  1. Thomas says:

Sounds like an awesome program… You should sell this as an online class as well.

  2. Rick says:

Yeh I would like to do that soon. Probably towards the end of the year. It would be a little different online I think but something similar.

  3. Tony Lloyd says:

I’m very interested in attending, and would love to get out of Minnesota for a few days in April, but I’m curious as to how much can actually be covered in a 7 hour period. My web design company does dozens of Joomla sites each year, and if I could be a bit more hands on in template modification or creation I would be extremely happy. What kind of things will be covered in terms of real life examples? What kinds of things could one do to make sure we are completely prepared for getting as much as we can out of the class? Also, given flight and hotel prices at that time, are there any opportunities for discounted rates? There’s no way I can go without bringing my fiance :)

  4. Rick says:

@Tony You said: “what type of things will be converted in terms of real life examples?”

It will almost all be real life examples. I am not a fan of the stale development and design teaching methods a lot of people use. I hate seeing: “$animal = ‘monkey’; $fruit = ‘banana’;”.

What are some things your are specifically looking to learn?

Pre-class preparation list would include: 1) Understanding Joomla administration, 1) Understanding how modules work (moving them around in the admin, etc.), though we will cover modules a lot in the series. For some of the advanced techniques, it would be good to know a little PHP, though it’s not required.

You’ll have to ask Steve over at JoomlaTraining.com about the pricing. Personally, I feel the price is a great deal.

  5. Anders says:

Hey there! I live in EU and can’t attend. Would it be possible to make a video covering the essential?

I’ll be looking forward for the online class soon Rick. I am here in Taiwan and its a bit difficult to go there just for the class. I would highly appreciate if you could post here the online class details once it is live and I really hope its cheap!

  8. We hope to see you there!

  9. I too would be really interested in an online class or at least one a bit closer. I am in Erie, PA and that is way to far. I have already developed and released 2 templates and am really interested in getting some training to take my skills to the next level. Any chance for a class up north or something online?

  10. Lester says:

My colleagues and I are all interested for the class here in Asia. I hope you could also offer it online and offer it a reasonable price. Thanks a lot!

  11. shan says:

I live at the other side of the big pond… unfortunately.
It would be great to get some insight in making tepmlates for Joomla. And I mean TOTALLY table-free. I do hope Joomla will stop using the lego-blocks-table core.
