I just wanted to mention first that I think the video tutorials are really cool and help alot. It's hard to find tutorials like this that zoom in on the specific tools and things that alot of us designers use.

I wanted to make a suggestion for a video tutorial series. Not sure if you already have this planned, but it would be really cool to see some tutorials on Advanced Joomla Template Creation. And maybe some tips and tricks, things to remember when making templates for Joomla. Anything like that would be really cool to see.

Anyways, liking the vids.....keep up the good work.

How to have alternative CSS styles for modules and other areas, I think you use the module suffix but I've never messed around with it.

At Rockettheme, if you look at their templates, you can change and customize all sorts of things, I'd like to learn to do that.

Customizing a template, like how RocketTheme does their templates (along with the vast majority of the template clubs), is not too hard. Joomla allows for a simple solution for this (and even better one in 1.5).

We can make a tutorial series out of this idea. It is a good idea as these techniques are not on any of our current tutorial series.

The reason we don't actually put these types of customizations in our templates is two-fold:

1. We do alot of template conversions from existing static templates as well as client templates and find these types of customizations unnecessary.

2. Many of the template clubs abuse the use of these types of customizations and result in horrible load times. We try to keep our templates as quick loading as possible.

Anyway, look to the advanced tutorials in the near future!

wow, i agree.. i hope there would be a tutorial on how to go about that.. although rick is right about load times, i still want to learn how to do that.. :P
