managing styles sheets with Assets.CSS 2007/08/22 07:30
Hi there,

I would a quick clip explaining the use of assets.css with cookies with Joomla templates. There is an example in mootools demos. I have tried to implement it with no success. http://demos.mootools.net/Asset.css.

Thank you,

Joao

Sorry for the delay in response. We've added your video request to the list. It's a great idea. Actually, you gave us the idea of doing a tutorial video for all of the basic functions of mootools.

Hi Rick,

Thanks thats good news. When will it become available?

This tutorial would be very usefull specially for joomla templating. There is not much out there for mootools 1.1 and joomla.

Here is my wish list in order of importance for this tutorial:

CSS stylesheet management with mootools Assets: This is for me the single most important for all.

Expandable menus (seel Rokmoomenu)

Slide module containers

kwick Sliding Module containers: where the joomla module titles are shown and when click they slide open to show modules content

Carousel module containers (see Cnet tutorials and gadgets)

Kwik menus for joomla where the module image is the backgorund image and shows module title and it slides open to show description

Slider with events and cookies assigned

Ajax links

Resizable containes

Future tutorial I would also like to see in BID are:

Creating mootools driven Joomla modules

Creating Mootools effects mambots.

Also if you create a mambot that contains the most common content effects I believe this would become very popular. I'm thinking of a single mambot with customization that a applies ffects to text enclosed by simple blackets with a name and options. Example: {roundbox, red} text here {/roundbox}, {slide, slideIn, 1000}{slide}.

Great suggestions Joachim!

Keep them coming!

As of now...there's no timeline on completion of some of these...but rest assured we've moved them to the top of the list

Hi Rick,

A long list but its a wish list...

One suggestion: instead of a long tutorial make smaller ones: one for each toppic. You already got the introductory tutorial so ppl can refer there to start. This will keep members excited and a nice workflow.

Thanks and I'm looking forward to it.

By the way, you probably know this but joomla 1.5 is using Mootools as its main js library.

Great posiblities for you guys....

Joachim
