CSS wrapper div 2007/05/09 00:27
I'm going thru the tutorials on design and migration of CSS templates. I use Dreamweaver 8, StyleMaster and hand code. In static sites, I've gotten into the habit of using a wrapper or container div around all the other divs. I noticed in the CSS design tutorial that the header div is outside the container div. I've looked at other Joomla CSS templates and some of them appear to use a wrapper div as well. Is this a personal coding preference or is this something that Joomla works better with? Thank you.
Great tutorials.

Everyone is different with how they layout a template. Having a DIV wrap an entire layout, including the header is your preference as well what type of functionality you would like to have.

And instance like the template Curiously Green, the header actually stretches wider than the content or container (or whatever you want to call it) - it actually runs across the entire page. If placed inside the other it would be limited to the "wrapper"'s property (inherited).

Does this make sense?

Yes, it does make sense. Duh, I wasn't thinking outside "the box."
Thank you.
